CLEVELAND, Ohio - MetroHealth is encouraging people to call its coronavirus hotline if they are unsure about seeking medical attention for COVID-19 symptoms.

The telephone number is 440-592-6843, or 440-59-COVID.

MetroHealth said that it will conduct a free evaluation over the telephone. If a clinical assessment is deemed necessary, a telephone visit or video visit will be scheduled.

Symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath, MetroHealth notes.

“The incubation period is two to 14 days after exposure. The infection can be very mild to full-blown pneumonia, but it appears that 80% of cases are mild,” MetroHealth said in announcing the hotline.

MetroHealth has four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers and 40 additional sites in Northeast Ohio.
